Well, Dr. Grasshopper, I feel your pain. At Sundog Consulting, we do it differently. All my consultations are done on a simple hourly basis. You define how often you want to talk, which areas you think need attention, and that's how the consults will work. We consult over the phone, and after each hourly talk you will have an appreciation for what you need to do, and a firm list of actions you need to take to improve your practice. We talk, you do, your practice improves. Simple. Flexible.   

Initially I'll help you define the problems within your clinic, and then we'll find the solutions. I'll show you how to analyze your practice's condition, and where to find the answers to your vexing questions. We'll work on whatever aspect of the practice you think needs improvement- income, fees, employees, buying, selling, whatever.

You control the frequency of the conferences. There are no minimums, contracts, deadlines, pop quizzes (well, maybe one or two), or other commitments. As long as you feel I am helping your practice, we'll continue. If you are satisfied that we are done, or it's not working for you, we end it cordially. It's a new way of consulting that is infinitely flexible to fit your particular needs.  

Will this work for you? Well, after many years of traditional consulting, with mountains of data collection, intense site visits, contentious group conferences and long lists of changes for you to accomplish, I can say that the old way is simply overwhelming for most doctors. What usually happens is that it seems too much for you to ever accomplish, so nothing gets done, and your practice never improves. With Flexible Consulting, you fit the pace of change to your needs and capabilities. For most of us, smaller changes are much easier than wholesale reconstruction of our businesses. I believe that my clients now find it much easier to fix their practices- at their own pace.
